DYVICC Inc. is currently seeking a Software Development Engineer for our headquarters in Hoffman Estates, IL, with the potential for travel to client locations across the U.S. as needed. Â
Job Duties & Responsibilities: Â
- Analyze information to determine, recommend, and plan installation of a new system or modification of an existing system.Â
- Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.Â
- Confer with data processing or project managers to obtain information on limitations or capabilities for data processing projects.Â
- Confer with systems analysts, engineers, programmers and others to design systems and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces.Â
- Consult with customers or other departments on project status, proposals, or technical issues, such as software system design or maintenance.Â
- Coordinate installation of software system.Â
- Design, develop and modify software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcomes and consequences of design.Â
- Determine system performance standards.Â
- Develop or direct software system testing or validation procedures, programming, or documentation.Â
- Modify existing software to correct errors, adapt it to new hardware, or upgrade interfaces and improve performance.Â
- Monitor functioning of equipment to ensure system operates in conformance with specifications.Â
- Obtain and evaluate information on factors such as reporting formats required, costs, or security needs to determine hardware configuration.Â
- Prepare reports or correspondence concerning project specifications, activities, or status.Â
- Recommend purchase of equipment to control dust, temperature, or humidity in area of system installation.Â
- Specify power supply requirements and configuration.Â
- Store, retrieve, and manipulate data for analysis of system capabilities and requirements.Â
- Supervise and assign work to programmers, designers, technologists, technicians, or other engineering or scientific personnel.Â
- Assess database performance.Â
- Assign duties or work schedules to employees.Â
- Collaborate with others to determine design specifications or details.Â
- Collaborate with others to resolve information technology issues.Â
- Communicate project information to others.Â
- Coordinate software or hardware installation.Â
- Design software applications.Â
- Develop performance metrics or standards related to information technology.Â
- Develop testing routines or procedures.Â
- Manage information technology projects or system activities.Â
- Monitor computer system performance to ensure proper operation.Â
- Prepare data for analysis.Â
- Provide technical support for software maintenance or use.Â

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent technical major with minimum of 5 years of professional experience in Software Development Engineer requiredÂ

- Strong knowledge and experience with AWS Cloud Formation; Apache Kafka; Apache Maven; Jenkins; Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services; Ansible; GitÂ
- System and data disaster recovery software; Veritas NetBackupÂ
- Strong knowledge and experience with Microsoft SQL Server Reporting ServicesÂ
- Desktop communications, publishing and Document management softwareÂ
- Strong knowledge and experience with Internet protocol IP multimedia subsystem software Â
- Strong knowledge and experience with Network conferencing software such as Slido interaction softwareÂ
- Strong knowledge and experience with Network monitoring software such as Nagios; Network intrusion prevention systems NIPS; Snort; WiresharkÂ
Strong knowledge and experience with Network security or virtual private network VPN management software such as Virtual private networking VPN softwareÂ
Education: Â
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems or Computer Applications or related field Â

Work Location & Physical Requirements: Â
- This position primarily works in an office environment. It requires frequent sitting, standing and walking. Daily use of a computer and other computing and digital devices is required. May stand for extended periods when facilitating meetings or walking in the facilities. Â
