DYVICC Inc. is currently seeking a Systems Engineer for our headquarters in Hoffman Estates, IL, with the potential for travel to client locations across the U.S. as needed.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Analyze system and business requirements to develop custom IT solutions by applying engineering principles and technical standards across hardware, software, and networking layers.
- Design and architect enterprise computing infrastructure, including cloud-based (AWS, Azure), hybrid, and on-premises systems, ensuring alignment with business needs and industry best practices.
- Execute tasks on enterprise switching, routing, security and wireless systems like VLAN changes, ACL updates, key rotations, and port reconfigurations.
- Develop and implement system automation scripts using Python, PowerShell, or Ansible to streamline system deployments, configurations, monitoring, and maintenance.
- Configure and manage enterprise operating systems such as Windows Server, Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu), and virtualization platforms like VMware or Hyper-V.
- Create secure integration frameworks between enterprise systems and cloud platforms using RESTful APIs, JSON, XML, and OAuth standards.
- Perform performance tuning and capacity planning by evaluating system usage, forecasting resource needs, and making architecture adjustments accordingly.
- Deploy and monitor cybersecurity controls, including firewall rules, intrusion detection systems, encryption protocols, and identity and access management (IAM) solutions.
- Develop disaster recovery and high availability strategies, including failover clustering, data replication, and cloud-native backup services.
- Provide technical support to resolve escalated system issues, performing root cause analysis and applying corrective actions to avoid recurrence.
- Collaborate with software developers and DevOps teams to integrate system infrastructure into CI/CD pipelines and agile workflows.
- Provide support for cloud infrastructures such as Microsoft 365/Azure and ECI’s proprietary technology.
- Support the management of enterprise mail platforms and security systems such as Microsoft Exchange, Proofpoint Essentials and Mimecast.
- Maintain system documentation including technical manuals, configuration files, change control logs, and architectural diagrams to support audits and onboarding.
- Continuously evaluate emerging technologies and propose enhancements to improve system performance, reduce costs, and ensure long-term scalability.
Experience & Knowledge:
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems such as Windows Server and Windows 10/11
- Administration experience with Public Cloud platforms with focus in Microsoft 365 and Azure
- Experience in administration of e-mail platforms and security integrations such as Exchange Online, Google Workspace, Proofpoint Essentials, and Mimecast
- Experience in virtualization administration on platforms such as VMware vSphere and Hyper-V
- Hands-on experience in deployment and management of routing, switching, wireless, and security appliance technologies using vendors such as Cisco, Palo Alto Networks, and Meraki
- Proficient in incident response management during security events and high-priority escalations, as well as disaster recovery and business continuity activations
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a focus on rapport-building and managing expectations
- Highly self-motivated and directed, in a fast-paced team environment
- Sharp attention to detail with proven analytical and critical thinking skills
- Effective time management and excellent prioritization skills
- Able to travel for business and work beyond normal business hours when necessary
- Certifications in cloud services, network management or cyber-security, such as CCNA, CISSP, Azure Fundamentals and VCP a plus but not required
- Experience in technical project management as applied to data/infrastructure migrations, relocations, major system upgrades, and new site deployments is a plus but not required
Education:
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Applications or Computer Information Systems or related field.
Work Location & Physical Requirements:
- This position primarily works in an office environment. It requires frequent sitting, standing and walking. Daily use of a computer and other computing and digital devices is required. May stand for extended periods when facilitating meetings or walking in the facilities.
